Sun-drenched terraces wrap around the house with shady corners for relaxing with a book, dining and enjoying exceptional views with sunset cocktails.
The pool is the main event... down a shady path which is gated for the safety of younger guests, the 12 metre pool enjoys the sun till dusk. Semi-circular steps are an ideal place to wallow or for water play with children, the shallow end is 95cm and then it runs to a depth of three metres.
There is a charming rustic pool house with shower, loo, and an open-plan kitchen. Step out of the door beyond and you are on another terrace with views falling away to the villages on the horizon and a comfortable lounging area under the shade of a cork-oak tree.

Where we are
Finca La Espuela is in the Sierra de Aracena, in the region of Andalucía; southern Spain. We are 1hr 10 mins north west of Seville, towards the Portuguese border.

Car hire
You will need a car at La Espuela. We use holidayautos.com to find the best deal.
All the major hire car companies are represented in Seville airport.
It is about €150 to get a curb-side taxi from Seville Airport to the house, but you will definitely need a car when you are here as there is extremely limited access to local taxis around Aracena.

Directions from Seville Airport
-Follow signs to Seville and you will end up on the E-5/A-4.
-Turn right onto the Ronda Urbana Norte ring-road to the SE-30.
-Once you cross the Guadalquivir (big river) take the first exit onto the A-66. This is the Autovía Ruta de la Plata and is signposted to Mérida. Continue for about 30km.
-When you see a signpost saying Portugal and Aracena, turn off the motorway. Take the second exit signposted Portugal Aracena onto the N-630.
-After about half a kilometre take the right hand filtre onto the N-433. Keep on this road until Aracena which is about 40km.
-When you get to Aracena, you will see the castle on your left as you approach. You will hit 2 roundabouts where you go straight over on the N-433 towards Portugal.
-From the second roundabout, it is 6.75km to the house.
-You will pass signs to the village of Los Marines and a parking rest stop on your right at the top of the hill.
-When you drive down the hill and you see kilometre marker 95, indicate right and slow down! There is a narrow white bridge crossing the road drain on the right. This is the entrance to our drive!
-Keep the revs up and follow the drive to the house.
