Do book ! our favourite for dinner or a late lunch and fantastic Spanish wine list. The food is excellent, we always order the Presa which is a favourite cut of pork (like best beef fillet) great service, a little old fashioned but hugely well-known local establishment for special occasions. All seating inside.

La Peña de Arias Montano
Our absolute favourite spot for views over the sierra - great for coffee or a drink at sunset, and a sweet little church as well. Just outside Alájar. Bar is only open at the weekends (11:30 - 20:00); good for light tapas and drinks.
Fuenteheridos
It's all about the location, beautiful spot for sitting and drinking coffee. Excellent churros most mornings from bar. One of the prettiest squares and great for people watching. Parking can be a bore.

coffee

This village is famous for its historic and very creative cobbling worth a walk around ... go and have a look at the old public washing area in Plaza de la Fuente and walk up to the church. Lovely little bars in the bullring open on the weekend.
